BRITTANY CARROLL LACAYO

Brittany Carroll Lacayo understands the importance of defending the rights of the accused. She will use all available resources to ensure that her clients receive the best possible outcome for their cases. Brittany Carroll Lacayo attended James Madison University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Brittany Carroll Lacayo then went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center. She excelled in law school, serving as an Articles Editor for the Houston Journal of International Law and she was elected to the Moot Court Board. Mrs. Lacayo completed two internships at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. At the District Attorney’s Office, she gained valuable insight into the prosecutorial process. She also completed a judicial internship with the Honorable Judge Eva Guzman at the Fourteenth Court of Appeals. During her judicial internship, she assisted in researching and writing court opinions for criminal appeals. Mrs. Lacayo was then offered a position as a law clerk at the prestigious criminal law firm of Bires, Schaffer, & DeBorde. She clerked for Bires, Schaffer, & DeBorde for one year before going on to complete a graduate fellowship at the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Southern District of Texas. While at the Public Defender’s Office she gained experience defending clients in the federal court system. She was an attorney with the law firm of Bires Schaffer and DeBorde practicing criminal defense for four years before she opened up her own law firm in Montrose in 2014. Mrs. Lacayo has the knowledge and experience to zealously defend your rights.
